The Brig is a beer garden located in Capitol Riverfront. We are 5 blocks from Eastern Market metro on lower 8th Street near the Navy Yard and 8 blocks from Nationals/Navy yard metro. Our outdoor open environment is perfect for people to meet, drink, and eat. We serve German and craft brews along with wine and a full bar if you're looking for something stronger. Keeping with the whole German theme, we've got brats and pretzels- though there's a full menu of grilled foods and snacks! Sometimes we'll bring in guest chefs to switch things up because beer compliments all meals. We have a 25 foot screen where we project Nats, Caps, and any other games the people are interested in. We're family and pet friendly. Please only bring dogs that play well with others, that goes for humans too!
We offer a variety of German and craft brews, served from our 20 taps at the bar. We've got canned and bottled beers and ciders as well. We proudly serve many local breweries and update our taps seasonally.
We serve a variety of food fresh from our kitchen and prepared on our grill. For the carnivores we've got burgers and brats. We've got vegetarian and vegan options too. Our casual meals and snacks are great for families or sharing.
On any given day you can find your favorite live sport being played on one of our three large flatscreens. When it gets dark we break out the projector and show games on our 25 foot projection wall so everyone can see!
The Brig is a public beergarden, and we want anyone and everyone to feel welcome. Our giant patio is great for families, pets, sports fans, locals, tourists, singles, couples, and anybody else who likes beer, good times and being outdoors.

“Great new beergarden! Love their beer, perfect for day drinking and hanging with friends. It's pet friendly too!”
"A much needed beer garden in SE. Cool spot with liters and brats. The location is a little bit hard to get to, but it's worth it."
“Loved the selection of European beers. SO happy to see some classic pils, heffs, and wits on a menu in a land overrun by IPAs.”
